Meet the Counselors
Katie Bearden
My name is Katie Bearden and I am a school counselor at Century Elementary. I am beyond thrilled to be a part of the Nixa School District and it is a great privilege to be a part of your child’s life during the vital elementary school years. While this is my second year at Century, it is my sixth year as a school counselor and it is a joy to serve the community in this capacity!
I am an Evangel University graduate (2009) and received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in School Counseling. I have experience serving children and families in the state of Missouri for over 14 years. My husband and I reside in Nixa with our three children and enjoy spending our time catching as many Nixa Eagle athletic events as we can. Go Eagles!
The school counseling team works diligently to assist children in their developmental journey into becoming the best version of themselves while at school. We provide whole class lessons, small groups, and meet individually with students to address social and emotional needs. It is my desire that every student at Century Elementary knows they are loved, valued and that they learn to walk confidently in who they are made to be.

Hello Century families!
Hi! I’m Mrs. Blanton. This is my first year at Century, my sixth year as a school counselor, and my tenth year in education. I moved back home to Nixa this year after being a school counselor in the Arkansas River Valley for the past five years.
As your child's school counselor, my biggest goal is to create a learning environment of love and acceptance so they look forward to coming to school everyday. I look forward to teaching your child how to love themselves and love others through social- emotional lessons in the classroom, small group counseling lessons, and one on one counseling.
